Sightings report image

Date: 10/10/2024

Arrived to the tip area of Point Pelee National Park approximately 18:20. Weather conditions according to the app on my telephone at 18:17: Sunny skies with temperatures at the high for the day of 15°C, wind 196° SSW at 4 km/h with gusts up to 11 km/h, humidity 57%, dewpoint 6°C, barometric pressure steady at 102 kPa

Up until around noon today, there was a north east wind. I expected all the individuals I observed yesterday would leave with this nice tail wind. As the attached photo illustrates, beautiful clear, blue skies, with low humidity in place so you can see Pelee Island clearly. Pelee Island is directly south west of Point Pelee so it is possible some may have made a pitstop there if there is nectar available. It is good that they have left as there are very very few sources of nectar in the tip area now. .
