Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers
Sightings report image

Date: 08/12/2024

Number: 1

A ruby-throated humming bird sipping nectar from native Northern Cardinal flower.

Around 10 years ago, I planted this native flower in my small garden and on the edges of two ponds. (I live on 12 acres of mixed woods with three ponds.)

They are a favorite flower for my humming birds. By summer's end, every flower became a pod of seeds.
