Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 10/12/2024

Number: 216

We saw so many monarch butterflies while sitting at Isles of Palms Beach for a couple hours and I remarked there are way more butterflies than birds! So I set a 15 minute timer to count how many we saw. In a 15 minute period I counted 27, so I am estimating 27 per hour. They were all merrily flying south along the shoreline.
