Date: 10/14/2024

A fourth cold front overspread the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions, bringing cool to cold nights. This caused five smooth sumacs,a native species-one mature and four saplings-to turn red and orange in a Conservation Resource Zone. They were quite beautiful. The Frederick Planning Commission is having a hearing on the Preliminary Plat/Final Site-Preliminary Forest Plan for this area on a date to be determined.
