Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/30/2024

Number: 1

This was the first monarch butterfly I had seen all year! I was gone for two weeks and may have missed some of them, but this was much later than I’ve seen before. I went ahead and collected 12 of her eggs and reared them outdoors, tagged and released them. They started e-closing on the 14 of October and the last one finished and was released on the 19th.

we have been having a very warm fall, so there was only one night where it got down to 34°. The rest of the time we are in upper 30s – 40s at night and 60s – 70s during the daytime.
