I use to raise them in a habitat. I no longer do due to OE. I will say that my first year, I raised and released over 450. The numbers have gone down considerably every year to the point now, I only see a handful early Spring and Fall. 2018-120, 2019-150, 2020-didn’t log, 2021-130, 2022-40. To date-30 Spring caterpillars and as of Oct 24th, 6 Fall adults, 9 caterpillars and a few eggs. Note that I didn’t monitor at all in 2020. I now (2024) leave the milkweed out. I no longer keep it in an enclosed habitat.
