Date: 10/26/2024

A fifth cold front overspread the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions, bringing cool to cold nights. This caused two smooth sumacs,a native species, one mature and the other a sapling,to turn bright orange in a Resource Conservation Zone. They were quite beautiful. The Frederick Planning Commission is holding a hearing on the Preliminary Plat/Final Site-Preliminary Forest Plan for this area on a date to be determined.
