A sixth cold front overspread the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions, bringing cool to cold nights. This caused a red maple and seven mature smooth sumac trees on State Highway land near a storm water pond, both native species,to turn 50% bright red,and the smooth sumacs had produced their scarlet seed cones as well. All this was quite
beautiful.A seventh cold front will arrive Saturday, but only last a few days due to climate change.
