Monarch, Captive-Reared

Date: 10/31/2024

Number: 1

reporting as captive-reated! But not certain.Possibly a larva seeking a place to pupate, found the narrow spaces between the door to the porch & the frame. Don't recall being in and out that door in recent weeks!
Was checking on 33 chrysalises of Black Swallowtail in case one or more may have eclosed instead of wintering over. On a chair, was a health female monarch butterfly! Not yet located the remains of the pupa she left behind. Attached herself to a finger on my left hand, managed to get a photo using iPhone in my right hand. Opened the porch, stepped outside and she immediately flew away! Having issues with settings relating to photos, iCloud etd.
