This wild monarch was a caterpillar in my garden butterfly weed this past fall. She formed a chrysalis on October 1 and finally eclosed on November 10th, despite two light frosts. It was in the mid-60s and windy on November 11th when she left (during the two minutes I wasn’t watching her!).
