Another Arctic outbreak enveloped the Mid-Atlantic Region, bringing subfreezing lows and dangerous wind-chills.This caused a fourth sweet gum tree,a native species,in Loats Park to turn orange. It was quite beautiful. The sweet gum trees are among the late turners, along with bald cypress and willow oak trees. This Arctic outbreak ends today, but another cold blast arrives Thursday.
