While riding fencelines I saw approximately 20 monarch butterflies landing on yellow bitterweed flowers (Helenium amarum) as they flew south. Latest I’ve ever seen them, but we are having spring like weather lately as it seems winter is late this year.
Tried to get pics but it’s difficult to get close enough on horseback and the butterfingers were busy going plant to plant.
