I have a whole bunch of milkweed plants in our back yard. Over last few years I have seen dozens of Monarchs hatch there. but never noticed them in December. Spotted three yesterday. Two chasing each other around, once or twice taking a break for nectar. One on another tree, aloof form the two. Would take off in the air, then land back a few inches. Could not observe for long as I had to leave.
