Photo at 7 a.m. not much light. Male Rufous just sits on yellow sophra twig goes back and forth to feeder. Now for an hour. He's very small young male with a lot of orange on his back above tail. Full neck red/ orange feathers also.
There is purple gurantica in full bloom until this weekend hopefully not a winter freeze approaching. I have not seen Rufous nectaring there yet bc we have a flock of very annoying sparrows sitting in gurantica. I cleared out all sparrow feeders and just have goldfinch feeder out Cardinals can access too. Squirells run up and down desert willow tree which is a problem. Working on critter problems.
