I know you do not track/follow Purple Martins. They are not only migratory, but are definite signs of Spring. Their arrival in Spring and departure in mid summer are like clockwork. They are a definite precursor to the arrival of Hummingbirds. For that reason I am reporting that I observed the first Purple Martin of this year. It was a single male (probably a scout) as they arrive first and then the females, just as Hummingbirds do.
