A noticeable uptick in Monarch sightings as we continue to make our way south along the TX coast. We saw quite a few Monarchs in flight throughout the refuge.

One in particular seemed to be looking for milkweed in the 5" grassy area along the Bobcat Woods Trail. There were no flowering plants or milkweed that I recognized in this spot, but the Monarch was flying low and tapping various plants on the ground as if checking to see if it was milkweed.
