This is a photo of a mated pair observed in the late afternoon. It was just luck that I saw them as they flew and then was able to follow them as they traveled a good distance. They finally managed to land in the branches of this large oak tree (just budding out). The wind was gusting at over 20 mph, so it was a challenge for the male to power them to this tree.

This is the 2nd mated pair I have seen this season. The first I saw on March 16th (not able to get a photo that time).
