Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/21/2025

Number: 20

Must have missed the female. I haven’t been home much lately. The first instar cats are on tropical milkweed that I cut back, clean and overwinter. We don’t have much native in our area but we are planting more with moderate success. I will check our sandhill(clasping) patch for emergence later today. It is in the woods so they don’t usually find it for egg laying but I do transfer caterpillars to it when my flower beds are eaten down
