I saw a Monarch butterfly flying north over the garden where common milkweed grows in the spring and summer. But none was growing yet.
I had Tropical milkweed (no blossoms) in my greenhouse, so I placed a tray of it in the garden where the Common milkweed is located. An hour later and it has not returned.
The color of the Monarch butterfly was dull.
