On our property in the Fort Davis estates, Fort Davis, TX. First sighting this spring of an emergent Rio Grande ground squirrel (Ictidomys parvidens). This species has been resident on our property the entirety of the 15 years we have lived here. It is absent in winter and is presumed to hibernate.
