Sad occurrence. Had very healthy monarch caterpillar. Eating well. Traveled to top of habitat, attached and then began to ooze. Had a few spots of this earlier on base of habitat. He is only one in there. Died from either black death or NPV. Saddens me. He was so pretty and appeared healthy.
Had another one on plant outside this happened to(He had j hooked on ground and died). I don't use pesticides.
This is hard to watch. Should I cut plant down? More eggs and caterpillars on plant.
