Caterpillars 4th & 5th instar. This is a 5 x 5 milkweed backyard bed that was protected from the freeze and was greened up nicely and waiting for them. My number estimate is very low compared to my personal observations and they have eaten until their heart's content On the fresh milkweed. Their arrival about two weeks early as giving them a fighting chance against the wasps that usually decimate them.
