I checked some of the milkweed plants today and found 46 monarch eggs and 83 monarch larvae (35 1st instars, 31 2nd instars, 12 3rd instars, 3 4th instars & 2 5th instars).

It was a cloudy day, around 80 degrees F, 60% humidity, with wind 15 mph from the SE. A few times during the count light raindrops came down.

This is a photo of three monarch eggs in the bud crown of this milkweed (Asclepias viridis).
