Hummingbird (OTHER Observations)

Date: 04/30/2025

Number: 1

Brentwood, NH Saw our first Hummingbird of the season. Our Peanut a Ruby Throated has come back every year for 4 seasons. I saw a hummingbird at our feeder this morning 4/30/2025. Did not get a good look at it before it flew away. Not sure it was a Ruby Throated male. So I will revise this after I see him and know for sure. If I whistle, he comes and sits on the clothes line near the feeder. And I talk to him and he hangs around most of the day by the feeder. Last year he came on 5/4/2024 my Dad's birthday. He is very territorial. He chases others away. Did notice he allowed some females to feed. Must be mating with them. Not sure what their mating rituals are, with single or multiple mates. Would love to get him to come to my hand with a small feeder in my palm. He left early last year. I think he left in late August. The year before he was here until mid September. So excited to find out if it's Peanut.
