During a rare May Nor'easter storm we got way more Ruby-throated Hummingbirds than the usual 3 or 4. At one time I counted 7 or 8 females at the feeder and 3 or 4 males flying around feeding only 2 or 3 at the same time. This frenzy lasted from dawn to dusk. A one day event only.
