Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/06/2025

Number: 1

This afternoon at 1:00 pm I saw a female monarch laying eggs on multiple fresh milkweed plants (Asclepias viridis). I later checked and found single eggs on each plant, usually in the bud crown. It was partly cloudy, 89 degrees F, with 63% humidity, and wind 6mph from the S.

It is unusual for monarchs to be here in July. We have had a lot of rainstorms this summer, so that may be part of the story.
