2 monarchs together in common hackberry (Celtis occidentalis) on the southwest side of tree, approximately 10 meters above ground level. A third monarch explored the tree, flying around, and almost roosted with other 2, but then flew away to the west. 70 degrees F (21.11 Celsius). Partly cloudy. Slight winds from east at 6 mph. Adjacent to Henslow Trail, near Iron Bridge Trailhead, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (U.S. Forest Service).
Still early for peak migration.
