1 monarch landed at 1855 hours on south side of a common hackberry (Celtis occidentalis), 7 meters above ground. At 1902 hours, 2 additional monarchs landed on a same branch on southwest of tree 6 meters above ground. At 1906 2 other monarchs landed approximately 5 meters on a same branch above ground on southwest side of tree.
Total = 5

72 degrees Fahrenheit (22.22 C). Only slight breezes from Northeast at 5 mph. RH 58%. Sunset scheduled for 1924 hours.

Adjacent to Henslow Trail, near Iron Bridge Trailhead, Iron Bridge Prairie Restoration, Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (U.S. Forest Service). Early for peak migration
