Total of 3 monarchs on branches of a chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii). 1 monarch roosting low on a branch at 2 meters above the ground on southeast side of the tree. 2 monarchs at 8 meters above the ground on southeast side. Other monarchs flying around tree, exploring, but did not land as of 1757. The oak is located in a space surrounded by native plant seed beds.

66 degrees F (18.89 C). Partly cloudy. Winds at 13 mph from the west / northwest, with gusts up to 21 mph. RH 52%, Dew Point 48. Sunset scheduled for 1918 hours.
