9/28/25 Observation: ~20–30 monarchs nectaring on garden cosmos; dozens on New England Aster in 1-acre meadow. Evening roost observed in south boundary trees (dogwood, cedar, mulberry, elm, honeysuckle),
9/29/25 ~60 monarchs counted in South Boundary trees at dawn.
Observer Comments (map note):
Large influx of monarchs—the first significant aggregation since establishing our native meadow. Aster clumps had ≥10 adults feeding. Roost trees provide shelter 10 ft from meadow. Most monarchs I’ve ever seen here.
