This morning starting 8 am I counted 9 on the bw with nearly 50 spread throughout in the woods plus 5 more nectaring in our back yard or flying non-directionally nearby.
Monarchs started showing up in numbers on Fri or Sat, but the first wave Sunday sundown (28th) was first time I saw any monarchs roosting on the black willow
Weather has been dry, mild temps compared to past years and not windy at all for the past few days.
Note: There are more spider threads and webs, as well as bag worms this year, including in woods. I haven't seen any butterflies caught in webs but gotta wonder if picking up a spider's thread affects ability to fly.
