1837 Hours

2 monarchs on the southside side of a common hackberry (Celtis occidentalis) about 8 meters above ground. One monarch flew away after being perched next to the 1st one. Unsure if it stayed in the same tree. Besides these 2, I observed 4 other monarchs flying in area. Only 1 monarch appears in photo.

Sunset was at 1837 hours. Temperatures are above average, 79 degrees (26.11 C). Wind was blowing from northeast at 4 mph with gusts up to 6 mph. RH was 54% with Dew Point at 61.

On Henslow Trail near Iron Bridge Trailhead at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie (U.S. Forest Service).
