2 ruby-throated hummingbirds had a classic air battle over flowers today. 1st fight in several days. They nectared at almost all the flowers; black-and-blue salvias, cigar flowers, purple agastache, red-orange lantana, and pink-yellow lantana. Much less feeding at feeders today. There may have been a third ruby-throat but I wasn't quick enough to confirm. I thought that our hummers had left since I didn't see them for a few hours shortly after 12;00 p.m. So 2 still here nectaring and catching insects until late into the evening. Hope to have an October sighting tomorrow.
