Lone female nectarine at a flower in my backyard near my hummingbird feeder. I usually see hummingbirds from my house until the second week in October. Activity is down exponentially from just a week ago.

I filled my hummingbird feeder on September 30, just three days ago or so, and half, but not all the food was gone. Yet this morning I’ve seen all of one hummingbird where last week I would see 2 to 3 fighting over the food every few minutes.

They are truly leaving, sadly, this is my marker that summer is over with.
