Big night for Monarchs in Wichita Falls, TX. Over 100 were tagged by members of the Texas Master Naturalist Rolling Plains chapter! At least 30 were tested for OE. Many more coming in to roost!
Winds were out of NE at 5 mph and temperature around 77deg F (as I was leaving Lake Wichita Park).
They were roosting in all types of trees, from willows to mesquite! Whatever they could latch on to!
Beautiful site and sunset!
