Saw one monarch flying SW at 12:30 p.m. along a major highway. It was a sunny day with little breeze and around 70 degrees. It was noted that this area is in severe drought and no roadside flowers were spotted along this highway for many miles due to drought and roadside mowing and construction. Troubling. Farther north there were areas of late flower blooms.
