Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 10/12/2025

Number: 1

On Oct 12, 2025, near the Mandeville lakefront (St. Tammany Parish), I observed one adult monarch in my zinnia and lantana garden. It nectared for about 10 minutes and allowed a very close approach. About ten gulf fritillaries were present; I’ve included a video comparing the monarch and the fritillary. Given the date and fueling behavior, this was likely a fall super-generation migrant (about 6–9 months).
