I counted twelve after work between 18:15 and 18:30 this evening. They were starving for nectar. I’ve never seen monarchs feeding right up until dark. They usually stop nectaring about 30-45 minutes before it gets dark. But not today-they just kept dropping out of the sky to nectar on my tithonia and other flowers. I only saw one monarch for the past couple of days, then a new group tonight. I’ve never had monarchs this late in the year. I’m in Claremore OK, NE of Tulsa.
