Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 10/27/2025

Number: 6

Austin has had an unusually hot and dry autumn, with no rain for over 40 days, until 3 days ago, when we finally had a cool front move through, bringing 2 - 3 inches of rain to the Austin area. After seeing very few Monarchs throughout October, I saw at least 6 Monarchs today feeding on Cowpen Daisies and Zinnias at the Sunshine Community Gardens in north central Austin.
