Arrived to the tip area of Point Pelee National Park just before 09:00. Temperature 6.4°C, Dewpoint 6.2°C, Humidity 99%, barometric pressure 100.99 kPa, wind 40° at 12 km/h. This is a combined report for my own sightings and those of the birders at the tip. One observed flying north. The rest observed flying south except this individual observed just after 10:00 when the temperature had warmed to 10.5°C. It appeared to have damage to its left hindwing. The north wind was trying to blow it south but it fought against it to land in the southernmost Mulberry tree at the tip. It put its proboscis out and was garnering something from the leaves on the south side of the tree. It then moved to a Hackberry and exhibited the same behaviour. After approximately 15 minutes, it headed south across Lake Erie. Observations with camera, spotting scope, binoculars and the naked eye.
