A Monarch emerged from its chrysalis on November 1. I found the chrysalis a week earlier in a morning glory vine that I was removing after a killing frost of 26 degrees F. I brought it inside and had it suspended in the south window of our basement which for the week stayed at 65 degrees F. After it emerged I moved it outside the next day to a bluebird house facing south with the front door open. I gave it a skewered orange slice and a mashed banana piece mixed with a little water. It took off November 3 when the sun was shining, 55 degrees F, and a west wind blowing. Hope it makes it! What is the latest reports you have received in MN?
