Gibbs Gardens, North GA 11-4-25 sunny & 60's: 16 Monarchs!
Most of Gibbs' hillsides of zinnias and cosmos are dried up and b'flies were moving fast from spent blossom to spent blossom - but there were still good blossoms at the top of the hill. We did not cover everything but still got an exciting count of 16 Monarchs in November. I'd say 15 were in great shape and one was very torn & worn. Just 2 days ago we had a late Monarch on our Tithonias at home just south of Gibbs Gardens - some of the very last good sources of pollen. So they're still making it down the eastern flyway!
