Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 12/02/2025

Number: 3

I found three Monarch larva today. The two in the photo were in one grouping of Texas Milkweed, a third was on another Texas Milkweed in a different part of the same yard. Adults were migrating belatedly until quite recently in this area (which has been affected by recent Arctic cold, but which has remained above freezing). These caterpillars are currently in the urban heat island, but we are apparently expecting another cold front.
