Year round resident pair, Nest easily observed from public park across Red Deer River. 1-3 annual fledglings. Usually on egg/s by early Feb. Can be seen cruising the open water on the river ( water treatment outfall keeps a portion of river ice free all winter) for overwintering Common Goldeneye, Mallards.
