I was home for lunch from about 1:45-2:15 PM Eastern Time when my husband said, “Is that a monarch? It looks a lot like a monarch.” I grabbed my binoculars to take a closer look. “Yep. Why aren’t you in Mexico, buddy?” One monarch seen for just a few minutes feeding on our pentas before it flew away. It has been warm recently (high in low to mid 70s, low in the 50s), but a cold front is coming (near freezing lows and highs in the 50s).
