Students planted Fosterina tulips instead of Emperor; however, data may be compared since both are early blooming varieties. They were planted in red clay soil about 5 inches deep because the ground was so hard that we could not dig any deeper. This was not an ideal time for planting tulips in this area but we feel the data will be reliable.
