This report is on Tulips Emerging. We have had a lot of rain and did not check our tulips between 1/18/97 and 1/30/97. On January 30 we discovered several bulbs were sprouted. The tallest was about 2 inches out of the ground. We oberserved two interesting phenomena. First the leaves are tinged with red. Second the bulbs are very sturdy and tough, compared with other sprouting wild flowers etc.
