Terry Sprague from Quinte Conservation Alliance reports 2000 robins seen during our Christmas bird count. Terry saw 6 robins in his driveway in Prince Edward County (just south of us) this evening. Our Education Assistant saw a robin this morning on her way to school. Terry says that the robins are overwintering this year because the winter has been mild and there is lots of food- they are eating red cedar berries, and old apples, and spending colder days in the shelter of the red cedar thickets.
