Students in our chain 'o lakes region of Northern Illinois have spotted our first flocks of Canadian Geese heading North this last Thursday (2/20) We are directly in line with the flyway that leads to Horicon Marsh in Horicon, Wisconsin which is 100 miles due North. Many of the geese coming from Missouri and Kentucky wintering grounds stop off at our wetland area for feeding and rest.
