although we don't have the ruby-throated her in California, we just want to report that on Friday the 21st, the first Anna's was sighted at a feeding station. It has been seen feeding from shrub blossoms and the feeder every day since Friday. Also a rufous was seen on Saturday the 22nd. The are a coastal species and only migrate through this area.
